How we work

 RBMHS is an exempt charity registered under the Co-operative and Community Benfit Socieites Act 2014 - No.21462R.

It is governed by a Management Committee which is elected annually at an AGM. It is made up of 15 members drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences who are annually elected. There are current ministers, retired ministers, tenants’ members, people from local associations and members of BU. Finally, the BUGB General Secretary and Treasurer are ex-officio members.

The Committee meet a minimum of three times per year. They are responsible  for determining policy for the Society, for looking at specific issues which arise from time to time, for approving the annual accounts, for agreeing the Society’s annual report to the annual AGM and for determining the Society’s rents and purchase ceiling. They also receive reports and oversee the operation of the Society.

The Society has two members of staff, the Society’s Manager/ Company Secretary, who is responsible for the running of the Society along with an administration assistant.
